چکیده
RXTE/ASM observations of PSR B1259−63 near the 1997 periastron passage find no emission brighter than ∼10 times that detected by ASCA during the 1994 periastron encounter, demonstrating that the pulsar is unlikely to have undergone even brief episodes of accretion.

We report for the first time the detection of long-term X-ray variability in the bright bulge source GX 354–0 (=4U 1728–34) observed with the All Sky Monitor (ASM) on board the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer (RXTE). The 2-year RXTE ASM database reveals significant power at ∼ 72 days. Similar behaviour was seen in the 6-year Ariel 5 ASM database, but at a period of ∼ 63 days. The timescales and lig...

We present the results of observations of XTE J0421+560 X-ray transient with Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer in the beginning of April 1998. Lightcurve, obtained by ASM all-sky monitor, shows unusually fast decrease in the object's luminosity. Spectra from series of observations by PCA and HEXTE experiments were studied in detail. Two emission line regions with energies around 6.5 keV and around 8 ...

We report on X-ray observations of the young, energetic radio pulsar PSR J1105−6107 obtained using the Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer. Our timing analysis of Proportional Counter Array data finds no evidence for X-ray pulsations from this source. We set a new upper limit on the pulsed X-ray flux from the pulsar of 18% in the 2-10 keV band, for a duty cycle of 0.5. Our improved upper limit supports...

The fourth unambiguously identified Soft Gamma Repeater (SGR), SGR 1627–41, was discovered with the BATSE instrument on 15 June 1998. Interplanetary Network measurements and BATSE data constrained the location of this new SGR to a 6 segment of a narrow (19) annulus (Hurley et al. 1999c; Woods et al. 1998). The All-Sky Monitor (ASM) on RXTE observed two bursts from this source. We use the ASM da...
